Getting started
How MigrantIQ is organized, what is free, and the best order to explore the site.
Who it is for: First-time visitors planning a move abroad.
Benefits
- No paywall — read guides without paying or creating an account.
- Structured paths from “where to go” → “which visa” → “what it costs” → “what to pack”.
- Official-source-first — we link to government portals for fees and rules.
Step by step
1. Pick your destination country
Open the Countries hub and choose where you want to live. Each hub shows migration essentials (visas, settlement costs, laws, scams) plus a Country profile section with links to topic pages when data is available.
Browse countries2. Open country profile topics (optional deep dive)
From the country hub, use topic tabs — Demographics, Economy, Government, Geography, Trade, Travel & safety, Infrastructure, National symbols — for structured facts. Long topics include “On this page” jump links.
Example: Canada demographics3. Read the visa hub for that country
Visa guides group pathways (work, study, family, visitor). Open the visa that matches your goal and note requirements, timelines, and official links.
Visa guides4. Use a corridor guide if you know origin + destination
Corridor pages (e.g. Pakistan → Canada) combine both sides: typical pathways, cost calculator links, and where to apply (destination country embassies in your origin). The homepage and Move Planner may pre-select your origin from your region — change “From” anytime.
Migration corridors5. Find embassies & consulates when you need to apply
The embassy directory lists missions by host country and representing nationality (e.g. Pakistan in Canada). Every page includes a disclaimer — verify appointments on official sites.
Embassy directory6. Run free planning tools
Use the tools hub for eligibility quiz, pathway finder, best-country matcher, corridor fit, 3-country compare, visa timeline, document pack, language checker, embassy finder, scam checker, and policy alerts — all free.
Planning tools7. Save progress in My Plan (optional)
Create a free account for corridor plans, scenarios, share links, and email reminders — guides stay free. Document checklist progress stays in your browser only.
My Plan9. Verify on government sites
MigrantIQ is guidance, not legal advice. Always confirm fees, forms, and eligibility on the official immigration authority before you apply.
