Editorial standards

MigrantIQ publishes free migration guidance for a global audience. Structured country and visa data, blog articles, and promoted community stories are reviewed before they go live. Country hubs are signed as the MigrantIQ research desk — one named byline, not a farm of invented authors.

What we publish

  • Visa and policy explainers with links to official government sources.
  • Corridor and country planning guides, cost signals, and checklists.
  • Guest editorial on migration topics (see Write for MigrantIQ).
  • People Stories — community timelines reviewed separately from the editorial blog.

Concrete review checklist

Before a blog post or major hub rewrite ships, editors check:

  1. Primary source — fee, form name, or eligibility claim links to the controlling government page (or a dated archive), not a third-party blog.
  2. Date hygiene — year and “last reviewed” match the source snapshot; we do not leave “2024” fees on a 2026 page without a re-check note.
  3. Byline honesty — named author + reviewer on blog posts; research-desk byline on templated hubs; no fabricated expert personas.
  4. YMYL framing — no approval odds, guaranteed outcomes, or “file this form tomorrow” language without “verify officially.”
  5. Affiliate / ads — money pages disclose how we fund free guides (how we make money, affiliate disclosures).

Guest pitches (admin queue)

Pitches from /write-for-us/ are stored in the editorial queue at /admin/guest-pitches/ and emailed to editorial. Each submission must include a Google Doc link to the full draft, shared with Anyone with the link as Viewer or Commenter so editors can open it without a permission request. Statuses move new → reviewing → accepted / declined / archived. Accepted pitches become drafts in the blog admin — they are never auto-published.

What we refuse

  • Unsourced fees, cut-offs, or “guaranteed visa” claims.
  • Scraped Telegram draw rumours presented as official.
  • Duplicate guest posts that restate another outlet without new reporting or a unique angle.
  • Document vaults or ID scans from users — planning tools stay metadata-only.

Cadence

Policy and fee pages are re-checked when official sources change or when the admin policy queue flags a watch. Gold corridors get a weekly Search Console glance (indexing + soft-404 spikes). Corrections are logged publicly on Corrections.

Not legal advice

MigrantIQ is general guidance only. Always confirm eligibility, forms, and fees on the official immigration authority for your case. Licensed professionals listed in our directory are independent — not employees of MigrantIQ. Expert listing fees are collected by Wise or Payoneer after approval — not via in-app card checkout.

Report an error

Use “Report an inaccuracy” on guide pages, open Corrections, or email editorial@migrantiq.com.
